IPIC showcases ADCOP pipeline in Emirates Skills 2014
The International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) showcased its Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (ADCOP) in Emirates Skills 2014, the UAE national competition that celebrates outstanding Emirati talent in technical and vocational skills.
IPIC is Premier Sponsor of the 2014 event which is the sixth to be held in the UAE. The event attracted 550 national students participating in 24 different fields or specialties, including computer-aided design, technology, robotics and electronics. The aim of Emirates Skills is to inspire the young generation to become passionate about new trades and embrace technology-based career paths.
ADCOP is a 48-inch-diameter pipeline designed to transport 1.5 million barrels per day of crude oil from the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO) facilities at Habshan over 380 km to an export oil terminal in Fujairah. It is a strategically important project, delivered by IPIC that will allow Abu Dhabi to export crude oil directly from Fujairah.
